Girls Excel in Summer Cricket Challenge

Having introduced girls’ cricket last summer, which presented nearly all of them with the challenging task of learning a new game from scratch, it has been pleasing to see how quickly the girls have progressed the beginners' skills of last season and to watch the growing level of batting and bowling techniques.

Launching straight into the well-attended U13 Bedes Pairs Cricket Tournament during the first week of term, the Skippers Hill team came a pleasing 5th out of 12 schools. Meanwhile, on the same day, the U11 girls back at school earned top place in a friendly quadrangular against The Mead, Bricklehurst and St Andrews setting the season off with a truly positive bang.

Rain sadly put a stop for our U11/10 teams at the Claremont tournament but with lots of fixtures to come along with the packed timetable of athletics, swimming and a dash of rounders, this term looks set for lots of fun and progression.
