Games and PE Back with a Bang!

At Skippers we have taken on the opportunity to add even more excitement to our curriculum thanks to our partnership with Bowles outdoor activity centre.

So far the children in Years 3-8 have taken on a range of fun and adventurous activities including archery, kayaking, rock climbing, bouldering, high ropes and the leap of faith.

They have learnt new skills such as map work in orienteering and have had to solve complex practical problems that promote creative thinking and teamwork.

We will continue to offer outdoor adventurous activities (OAA) at Bowles until we can return to our normal games programme of weekly fixtures; although I am planning to continue the great work done so far and integrate OAA into our future PE curriculum. I can't wait to see how these character building activities affect our pupils - expect to see more confident and adventuring seeking children! Apologies in advance...
