An enthusiastic group of Year 6 girls have been putting their practical skills to the test by taking part in some engineering work after school on Mondays.
The Goblin Car is an electrically powered go-cart which was delivered to the pupils in a box in many parts. Over the last 8 weeks, the girls have used the various tools needed to turn a box of bits into a go-cart!
Nuts, bolts, electrical components and greasy wheel bearings all came together to create a vehicle that, much to their delight, they were able to drive around the playground.
They had to navigate around a slalom course, a straight line speed test and even managed not to knock down all the cones. The girls were really inspired and are looking forward to getting involved in any future projects.
