Finalists perform their own poems as part of Poetry Morning

Posted: 13th June 2017 | Category: Drama, Years 3 & 4, Years 5 to 8

Over half term the children in Years 1-6 were asked to write a poem based on the theme of NATURE. This could take any form and be presented in any way they chose.
On Monday 5th June the children performed their poems to their own class, who then voted for the 2 they would like to go through to the Poetry Morning a week later.

We had some marvellous entries and it was very difficult to choose the winners: I know that in Year 6 we had to have four voting sessions before we chose the finalists!
The finalists - all of whom were winners - performed in front of the school on Monday morning. This can be a very daunting experience and there were some nerves during the morning, but well done everyone who took part! We awarded them with some presents in Celebration Assembly on Tuesday.

The winners are listed below and their poems will be on display around the school.
