Excitement in the Air as Fixtures Return!

Excitement in the Air as Fixtures Return!

If there is one thing this pandemic has taught me it is that however fun taking part in  new and adventurous activities at Bowles was for example and that however important and rewarding it is to keep up individual health and fitness through running, cycling and walking there is nothing  quite like training as a team and building skills to compete against other schools in fixtures!

So it is with real excitement and purpose that we have been able to host or set off for our first  matches in a long old time! Being a masked driver in a minibus has never felt so good!

The fixture list has been cut down to work round the new routines we have to follow and while we may not be running to full capacity yet on  ‘match day’ Wednesday we have added our excellent external cricket coach to the mix that day to give some extra and all important training for all pupils.

The girls are beginning to embrace cricket and it is good to see bowling and batting techniques are clearly starting to feel more natural. It makes a change too to be able to have boys and girls training together for  a sport in common.

To sum up it is safe to say there is a buoyant and ‘summery’ atmosphere taking shape out there on our beautiful playing fields as things seem to be slowly getting back to ‘fixture-filled’ normality at last.
