An Energetic Start to the Netball Season

An Energetic Start to the Netball Season

The ‘buzz’ word and focus for all our netball teams for this half of term is ‘energy’ and the netball season has, without a doubt, left the blocks with an energetic start.

Out of six fixtures so far, from U10 through to U13, the teams have won an impressive five matches which sets us in good stead and spirit for the very busy term ahead which is packed with fixtures and tournaments.

The junior teams, who are still new to match play with lots to learn, are developing and improving at a fast rate with the undaunted U8 team, in particular, displaying some very tenacious gameplay.

The U10A team deserve a mention for their outstanding performance at the Bedes U10 Tournament between twelve competitive schools. Having shot to the top of their group of six, overpowering some strong opposition including a very tough Vinehall team,  they were then beaten in the semis by the tournament winners finishing with a respectable 4th place having lost in a rematch with Vinehall.

The sense of ‘team’ is better than ever this year with some excellent wins for the B’s as well as our A’s. Those new to netball are making fantastic progress with more matches to look forward to. The hard work and dedication being put in both in lessons and during the floodlit astro club on a dark Friday evening are beginning to show.

Well done ‘Skippers Hill Netballers’!
