Cosmic Classroom Comes to Skippers

As part of the Years 1-6 science curriculum, the children were visited by the Cosmic Classroom from The Observatory Science Centre at Herstmonceux.

The Cosmic Classroom consists of an inflatable dome which takes the children on a voyage to the furthest limits of their imagination and knowledge. The children went inside the inflatable planetarium and took a journey around the solar system. They were able to see the sun, moon and the earth up close as well as visiting different planets. The children were also able to see the constellations and hear about the international space station.

The children were treated to a number of interesting facts from the visiting space expert who also posed some tricky questions to the children to help extend their learning of space further.

The Cosmic Classroom was a fantastic experience for the children, increasing engagement, learning and participation in science.
