U10A Netball Team win tournament at Bedes

The U10s took part in the inaugural Bedes Netball Tournament last week and were treated to a fabulous sports hall venue with tiered seating for supporters, along with an electronic score board.

The contenders were Skippers Hill A & B teams, Bedes Prep A & B, Moira House and Bricklehurst and the matches were played as a round robin.

Skippers Hill B team were outstanding in the effort they contributed and the improvement they showed, both as individuals and as a team throughout. It was very tough having to play the A teams but they were not deterred and had a wonderful match against Bedes B which resulted in a draw. It was so lovely to see all the girls gaining from so much match play.

Skippers Hill A team were also outstanding in their strength, teamwork and resilience calmly winning their way though to an incredibly nail-biting final with a tough and equally determined Moira House. After a draw resulting in extra time, another draw resulted in a golden goal contest where the first to score was to be the winner.

Back and forth the ball went between fourteen exhausted players who would not give up. Breath was held as Mia used her three seconds wisely to shoot the winning goal and the brand new trophy was ours!
