On Tuesday 2nd October, Year 1 visited St Dunstan’s Church in Mayfield.
Year 1 were really excited to learn more about the Church as it is part of our school community. Deacon Di welcomed us inside and she talked about her role in the Church. The children shared their experiences and were able to ask questions.
We then went on a tour of the Church giving us the opportunity to have a closer look at all the different features and explaining the significance of them. We had a read in the church library and some children even climbed up into the Pulpit! The children drew their favourite parts of the church and back at school, they were eager to talk about what they had drawn and seen.
We would all like to say a big thank you to Deacon Di and all of our parent helpers. What a lovely morning we had.
