Reception
Reception at Skippers Hill
Reception encourages a love for learning from an early age by offering a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum. The children enjoy a rich learning experience which is fun and full of exciting activities, outings, interacting with visitors, gardening, woodland exploration and cookery, as well as Music, French, PE and Games taught by specialist Senior staff.
The Reception children are taught with the latest teaching resources and have their own dedicated outdoor play space. The close proximity to the main school building enables the Reception children to use all the school’s facilities including the library, gymnasium, swimming pool and playing fields. Children make full use of the school’s 22 acre site for a range of learning-based activities and have great fun doing so.
There is continuous assessment of each pupil’s progress throughout the school and information about academic progress and attainment is disseminated through reports and parents’ meetings.
If you would like to learn more about a Reception place in our September class, see our admissions page here.
