Virtual Admissions

Thank you for your interest in Skippers Hill Manor Prep School. Even though everyday life may have paused, planning for your child's education doesn't have to, and we are delighted to be able to virtually welcome you to our school.

Following the UK Government announcement to close schools on 23 March, we are unfortunately not able to invite families to visit our school in person. However, during the school closure period, we can offer virtual admissions opportunities to help you gain the information you need when choosing the right school for your child.

We hope that our website, videos, photos and prospectus give you a flavour of what Skippers Hill has to offer, and we will be delighted to welcome you to the school as soon as we possibly can.

Our virtual admissions process is outlined below. In the first instance, we would invite you to get in touch with our Admissions team on office@skippershill.com or via our enquiry form.

We look forward to meeting you and learning more about your child, albeit virtually for the time being.

Make an Enquiry

We invite you to contact our Admissions team on office@skippershill.com or complete our enquiry form. Our Admissions team, will send you our online prospectus and arrange a suitable time for you to meet our Headteacher Mr Hammond. They will be more than happy to answer any initial questions you may have at this stage.

Virtual Meeting with the Head

We invite you to meet with our Headteacher, Mr Hammond, virtually via video call. In the meeting, you can discuss your child's needs and ask questions about how Skippers Hill can help nurture and support your child's education. Depending on which year group your child would be joining, we will also ensure you meet relevant members of our team virtually.

Registration and Assessment

Following a meeting with our Headteacher, we will invite you to register for a place at Skippers Hill. We can discuss any assessments that may be required depending on the year group they would be joining. For children who are joining Kindergarten or Reception, we would ask for a contact at your child's current school or nursery, whilst for pupils who are joining Year One onwards, we will ask for a recent school report and a reference from your child's current school.

Virtual Taster Day

We will be able to arrange for your child to attend a virtual taster day with the class that they would be joining - either for a morning, or a whole day, during which they will meet some of our staff, and get a flavour of the school. We have been running fully timetabled school days via Google Classroom and Google Meet, ensuring that our pupils benefit from both continuity of their education, as well as vitally important pastoral care and interaction with their teachers and friends. Skippers has been at the forefront of developing this provision since the Government announced school closures and the support and feedback from our current parent community has been overwhelmingly positive as we deliver continuity of education.

Offer and Acceptance

Once we have reviewed the information provided and you would like to proceed with your application, we will be able to confirm whether we are able to offer a place for your child. We will then send a formal offer letter together with our Terms and Conditions, which you will need to sign and agree to in order to accept a place.
