Years 7 &8 enjoy Spanish Day

Posted: 12th November 2014 | Category: Year 7, Year 8

Our Years 7 & 8 pupils began their Spanish journey in the Art room, decorating sugar skull masks, for the Spanish festival Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead).

Will in Year 7, said: “Spanish Day is great. Our first lessons have been really interesting. In Art we’ve been making masks and sombrero hats with paper plates and cups.”

Years 7 & 8 then enjoyed an energetic Handball match on the new astro pitch.

Before lunch, pupils enjoyed creating a special Spanish Day quiz, to be completed by Years 3 & 4 during the afternoon, and came up with lots of creative Spanish-themed quiz questions.

In the afternoon, Years 7 & 8 enjoyed a Salsa dancing workshop and also tested their Spanish in the Spanish Cafe.

Francesca in Year 8, said: “I really enjoyed the salsa dancing because we got chocolate at the end! The salsa teachers were great and it was fun. I also enjoyed Art, because we had a long time to do detailed work and Sport - we don’t usually play handball. I think we should do Spanish Day every year!”
