Year one receiving WOW stamps

Posted: 17th September 2014

In Year One the children have been receiving their first ever WOW stamps in their achievement books!

Achievement books collect stamps for all kinds of special reasons. It may be for a piece of work that a child has worked particularly hard on, it may be for a kind act in the playground or being very brave. They can also receive jewels for good work or behaviour which count towards house points but a WOW is really for something very outstanding and special.

When a child has 12 ink stamps in their achievement book they receive a lucky dip! Lucky dips happen on a Friday during Miss Murphy's assembly. A lucky dip prize could be a bouncy ball, a bendy ruler or a pencil case to name but a few.

During the first week of term Year One had great fun decorating and personalising their achievement  books with stickers and felt tips.

The happy expressions on the children's faces as they received their first WOWs was priceless.

Miss Bakewell is very proud of the children in Year One. They have settled into the routine of Year One so well. They are really enjoying and working hard on their topic on Australia. Well done, Year One!
