Reception build Eeyore’s House

Posted: 21st March 2014 | Category: Reception

As part of their Woodland Explorers programme, Reception have been thinking and writing about the materials used to build houses. In particular they thought about what Eeyore’s house is made of – wood and sticks.

The children were then grouped into their house teams (Drake, Livingstone and Churchill) and each team made a small model of Eeyore's house. Drake used Georello, Livingstone used wooden blocks and Churchill used stickle bricks.

We then went out to the woods, where each team built their own Eeyore house using sticks they had collected.  The variations and additions they thought of were truly something to behold - roads, driveways, gardens marked out with small stones, beds and sofas of moss - and a photo of each creation was taken in celebration.

We have made a display of our work in our classroom and we would love our families to pop in and take a look!
