Kindergarten Blog: Aha, me hearties!

Posted: 13th November 2013 | Category: Kindergarten

Following on from our theme 'under the sea' we have moved on to 'Pirates'.

The children in Kindergarten have enjoyed pirate role play, setting sail to hunt for treasure on a pirate ship which they constructed with an upturned table, comfortably lined with cushions and adorned with a skull and crossed bones flag. We made pirate hats, cardboard swords and a treasure chest.

To celebrate the end of our theme and the beginning of the half term holiday, we invited Reception to a pirate party. We enjoyed pirate themed food, played pirate games and attacked our pinata with swords until it spilled a heap of chocolate treasure onto the ground. We were joined by Pirate Lewis, a remarkably good natured pirate, who joined in with all the fun.

All the children went home with a pirate party bag, happy, tired and ready for the break.

We have had a wonderful start to the school year, and look forward to more fun learning opportunities during the next half of term.
