Year 7 put their classroom French into real-life context

Posted: 16th October 2017 | Category: Year 7

Once again, we were amazingly lucky with Friday's weather, with the sun shining down on us as we drove down the French coast.  Our new addition for 2017 was Opalaventure, a Go Ape-style tree-climbing activity.  It was really heart-warming to see how supportive the children were of each other, going to great lengths to encourage and guide the less confident, as well as challenging themselves physically.  Just being out in the woodland among the trees gave a real energy boost to everyone!

Stella Maris, our hostel, was the perfect venue and the children thoroughly enjoyed racing up and down the private dunes behind the building.  Of course, the French market on Saturday morning was a highlight: putting their classroom French into real-life context is a really valuable boost to pupils' motivation and confidence.

Thank you to Year 7 for making the weekend such a pleasure!
