Year 6 Support the World Wildlife Fund By Adopting a Snow Leopard

Posted: 6th February 2013 | Category: Year 6

Year 6 has decided to adopt a snow leopard!  With as few as 300 left in Nepal, the snow leopard is facing a bitter battle for survival. The Year 6 pupils hope that their support will help the World Wildlife Fund to protect the snow leopard’s precious habitat as well as keeping it safe from poachers.

The snow leopard has survived in the hostile conditions of the Himalayas for thousands of years. Yet today, its habitat is under threat, its natural prey is disappearing and its fur is highly prized by poachers.

As part of the adoption, WWF will send the class regular updates about the snow leopard.  These updates, along with Year 6’s own soft cuddly ‘snow leopard’, can be seen  on the landing of Year 6’s stairs.

Although they did not plan the weather for their cuddly snow leopard’s arrival, you can see that he is very at home in Skippers’ current climate!
