Year 6 Pupils Help Make First Funtrain Picnic a Success

The sun was shining on Wednesday 27th June as parents and children headed down to the pavilion and laid out their picnic blankets for Skippers’ first ‘Funtrain’ picnic.

Parents and toddlers from ‘Funtrain’, the toddler music session which takes place every Wednesday during term time in the gym, were invited to the picnic to celebrate the end of the school term.

The ‘Funtrain’ parents and toddlers were joined by Mrs. Mills and her kindergarten children and some delighful helpers from Year 6.

Mrs. Mills read the story ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ and then all the children tiptoed through the grass, through the thick oozy mud, and into the deep, dark forest, through a swirling, whirling snow storm to find their very own Skippers Hill teddy bear!

Mothers, toddlers, babes in arms, babes in buggies and the Kindergarten children enjoyed a scrumptious picnic, which was followed by outdoor games and a lot of fun with the bubbles.

Thank you to all the Year 6 girls for entertaining the children as Mothers were able to relax and chat knowing their little darlings were in safe hands.
