Year 4 visit Tonbridge Castle

Posted: 19th January 2017 | Category: Year 4

On Tuesday 17th January, Year 4 visited Tonbridge Castle to support their work on Medieval Castles and Locality History.

The day started with a very informative tour of the castle and lots of interesting facts were learnt.

" I learnt a lot but the most interesting fact was they used to drop hot sand, boiling water and hot tar down the murder holes"   Oli Davis

After the tour, the children took park in different activities such as puzzles, brass rubbings and dressing up.
"I dressed up as King William I "   William Morely

The afternoon was spent in the grounds of the castle and walking to the top of the Motte.

"I really enjoyed the trip, it was fun and I'd like to go back there again,"   Milly O'Connell.

The children listened attentively, behaved well and were a credit to the school and  a great day was had by all.

Many thanks to the parents who gave up their time and came along to help.
