Year 2 visit Wagamama

Posted: 11th May 2016 | Category: Year 2

The heavy downpour of rain on Tuesday didn't matter at all for the Year 2's as they set off in the minibus to Tunbridge Wells as they were going to Wagamama as a continuation of their topic on Healthy Eating.
They didn't realise what a wonderful time was in store for them! On arrival they  were all given  an informative explanation of the types of delicious and nutricious  food and drinks served at Wagamama whilst sipping delicious freshly squeezed apple juice. The children were told a  brief history of the company and were very amused that the word Wagamama means naughty or wilful child in Japanese (not that we have any of those in Year 2!)
The children were split in to 3 groups and each group took turns having a tour of the kitchens and huge walk in fridges,  watching demonstrations of the chefs cooking, helping to weigh and prepare the food, tasting different  types of vegetables and noodles and watching how they make the fresh juices. They all then sat down together to enjoy bowls of Yaki Soba chicken and edamame beans - YUM YUM!

The children all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and so did the staff!

Thank you Wagamama Tunbridge Wells and particularly to Lenka and her team for making our trip so informative and enjoyable.
