Winter Wonderland comes to Kindergarten

Posted: 5th March 2013 | Category: EYFS, Kindergarten

Inspired by the recent wintery weather, Skippers invited local pre-school children and parents along to its Kindergarten Winter Wonderland Afternoon.

The event, which was held in the Kindergarten classroom, provided an indoor element to the children’s recent topic on winter, where a considerable amount of their learning and play-based activities have taken place outside in the school’s woodland.

While the parents were treated to homemade cakes and fresh coffee, the children took part in a number of winter-themed activities, ranging from arctic animal making to Winter biscuit decorating.

Sue Reis, our Kindergarten assistant, said: “To tie in with our topic on Winter and the snowy conditions recently experienced at the school, we thought it would be great to organise some fun activities which the children could enjoy indoors in the warm. The arctic snow scene was by far the favourite, and it was a delight to see the children having so much fun.”

Preparations are now underway for a special Kindergarten ‘Bake Off’ which will take place on 14th March and will raise money for Comic Relief.
