Well Done to the Skippers’ Swimming Squad at the Cottesmore Swimarathon in aid of LEPRA

Posted: 15th May 2012 | Category: Sports

Swimming SquadOn Tuesday 15th May, a team of children from Years 3 & 4 travelled to Cottesmore School to take part in their annual fundraising swimming event. This year the charity was LEPRA which raises money to help people suffering from leprosy.

The eight children in the team were Adam Emin, Flora Gibb, Lydia Hugo, Connor Kaszuba, Amber Leisinger, Joshua Shefield, Eve Steward and Ben Wyatt,

The event was run as a relay and the teams had to swim for 15 minutes in a 20 metre pool clocking up as many lengths as possible. The valiant Skippers swimmers managed to swim 35 lengths and were very proud of their efforts.

All the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience which also included team games in the school grounds and a quick game of pool.

The children were marvellous ambassadors for Skippers Hill, displaying good behaviour and attitude throughout the trip.  The Cottesmore Headmaster commented that he always finds Skippers children 'utterly charming', which is lovely to hear.

Well done, team!
