St Michaels Won 10-2
Kings Rochester Won 5-1
Sevenoaks Prep Won 11-2
Hazelwood Won 4-2
Walthamstow Hall Lost 3-4

Seven players with no reserve and five matches against some large schools and tall opposition was the order of the day for the Skippers U13 Netball team this week.  Injury was not an option! The girls were not daunted and proceeded through the afternoon with determination, skill and some great team work. First up was Hazelwood which we won 4-2 and where we played our neatest Netball. Some lovely court positioning and brilliant dodging especially from the 'team terrier' Ellen in this match enabled us to keep the lead and secure our first win. Next up was Walthamstow Hall who gave us a real fight. Despite our huge effort and a particularly strong defending partnership between Verity and Francesca who made it so tough for the opposition to receive the ball in the circle, we were just pipped by one goal and lost this match 3-4. We secured three more wins after this against Kings Rochester 5-1, Sevenoaks Prep 11-2 and St Michaels 10-2. It was during these three matches that Tali came into force with some lovely and improved passing, great movement in the shooting circle finished off with several stunning goals. Sarah worked tirelessly throughout the whole tournament making driving out for centre passes seem easy and working the goal circle with decisive moves and superb shooting.

The girls ended the day coming second, just short of winning by one goal and returned to Skippers with  some well earned  silver medals. A huge well done to the whole team, a special well done to the two U11's Eve and Diya who dodged their way so efficiently around some very tall players and last but not least to the valiant team Captain Verity who was not feeling very well but played with every ounce of her energy and is voted 'man of the match'!
