U11 Netball vs St Bedes Prep

Posted: 23rd January 2015 | Category: Sports

The U11 Netball team started 2015 with a superb match today during which players from both teams worked with maturity, focus and intelligence in a close run battle. We got off to a slightly frustrating start with St Bedes being up by 3 goals to 1 in the first quarter, mainly due to some unforced errors on our part. That was the good news as we knew we could do better! What followed was stronger and accurate passing, much tougher defending and some beautiful goals from Alice K. We caught up, overtook and finished with a decisive 11-7 win with a flourish of goals in the last quarter for good measure!

It is great to see such an effective attacking circle partnership growing between Lydia and Alice K helped by some lovely feeds from the edge of the circle. Matilda's two gravity-defying interceptions are definitely worth a mention too! All in all a lovely team effort with praise from the other coach on the efficient and mature way we warmed up before the game finished with a hot tea of sausage and chips! What could be a nicer way to spend a wintery Wednesday?

Well done girls!
