U 11A Quadrangular Success

Vs Skippers B Won  5-1
vs Battle  Won 4 ½ – 4
vs Bricklehurst Won 4 – 1 ½
Summer was with us in force today for our mini tournament against Battle, Bricklehurst and our own B team. Having had a practice match against  Skippers B team who fielded superbly against some big hits, we felt warmed up and ready to take on Battle Abbey. We batted well and managed a score of 4 ½ rounders in one short innings. Battle were excellent fielders and they kept our bigger hits down to halves so we knew we had to field tightly to win.  Fortunately our fielding was slick with some lovely team work involved and we managed to keep their big hitting left handers down to 4 rounders giving us the victory. Well done to Libby for bowling a faultless innings.
Next came Bricklehurst and once again sharp fielding and quick decisions with some superb catches from Kyra, Daisy and Felina kept their score right down to 1 ½. We managed to score 4  rounders giving us our third win and therefore making us the tournament winners.
To work on is our batting, getting as much power into our swing as possible and finding those gaps! Man of the match goes to Lucie M for her highly effective and determined control of both first and second posts!
Well done to everyone!
