Summer Holiday Clubs are a hit

Posted: 20th August 2014

Pupils from Skippers Hill and the local community have enjoyed an action-packed Summer, with the popular Skippers Holiday Club running for the first two weeks of the holidays, as well as The Summer Club by South East Performing Arts CIC, which comes to an end this week.

The children have enjoyed a wide range of activities, from swimming and fencing to jewellery making and drama productions.

The Summer Club was held at Skippers for the first time this year and offered an exciting variety of clubs and courses for children aged 6-16. 95 children enjoyed taking part in around 700 daily sessions including woodland adventures, singing, skateboarding, roller blading, learning to sew, Tug of war, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Tennis, Archery, Obstacle courses, and more.

What the children say:
“Can we go again next year? I loved it.” Hollie, aged 11

“I have had a fab four weeks meeting different people and trying different things. I can’t wait until next year.” Jemima, aged 14

What the parents say:
“Lottie and Theo have enjoyed it so much over the past three days and they have tried such wonderful new things. In fact Theo loved it so much that he said he forgot me! Thank you.” Ana O’ Kill, mother of Lottie, aged 12 and Theo, aged 7.
