Skippers’ Fantastic Fundraising Effort at Cottesmore Swimarathon

Posted: 24th May 2013 | Category: Sports, Year 3, Year 4

On Tuesday 14th May, a team of eight swimmers from Skippers Hill, four from Year 3 and four from Year 4, took part in the Cottesmore Swimarathon, a charity event to raise money for ‘Caudwell Children’ who help disabled children across the United Kingdom.

The challenge was for each team to swim in relay and clock up as many lengths of the 20m pool as they could in 15 minutes.

Our swimmers put 100% effort into every length they swam and managed to complete 36 lengths in total. They came fourth out of the eight teams taking part. One of the team suggested that next year we should call ourselves ‘The Skippers Stingrays’!

We were very proud of their performance.

The children raised a total of £328, which is our best yet.

Well done Skippers!
