Senior Netball Club provides fun lunchtime activity!

Posted: 19th March 2012 | Category: Sports

This season the Senior Netball Club has been brimming with enthusiastic participants from Years 5,6,7 and 8 who have been giving up their lunch break to take part.

The club offers a varied range of activities which involve different and challenging skills, with an air of relaxed fun being an important ingredient.
Each year group recently had the chance to take on the boys at netball, which was not only very popular but also quite interesting! The boys were a wild bunch, and while they were not so hot on footwork and chest passing, boy could they leap and intercept! The girls had to work hard to keep the ball and learnt the hard way just how important it would be to make their passing accurate!

‘Skipping Netball’ was also popular. I will leave that to your imagination, but suffice to say skipping and a ball were involved at the same time, which required concentration, co-ordination and timing.

We have fitted in lots of team practice and shooting workshops and the older girls have been practising the tricky and more advanced skill of turning in the air.

Still to come is the shooting knockout competition, which will be a bit of end of term fun.

Well done to everyone for their effort and commitment!
