Netballers have plenty to celebrate

Posted: 22nd March 2017 | Category: Sports

The girls have had an exciting and extremely busy fortnight of Netball tournaments. The U13 girls played in the B section at  St Michaels and came back with gold medals, a trophy and a loud victory song hastily made up on the return journey home! The U11 girls went to the Beechwood tournament and played some excellent Netball to take second place out of 8 schools.  Not to be outdone, our U9 team won the trophy and the gold medals in their St Michaels B tournament as well.  This was no mean feat as all our U9 girls were involved against 14 very big schools who all have enough girls for C teams.

To top it all on a beautiful sunny afternoon the mothers took on both the U13 and U11 Netball teams. With their usual determination and dare I say it a little too much footwork, the mothers managed a draw of 4-4 against the U13's and an 11-3 win over the U11's. It has to be pointed out that the obvious height advantage over the U11 was the only reason their speedy moves and strong passing were beaten! Great fun was had by all and thank you to all those who came to take part. Up next in our busy schedule is inter-house Netball to round off a fantastic season!
