Netball News Autumn 2015

Posted: 12th October 2015 | Category: Sports

Where has the term gone? It only seems like yesterday the Skippers girls were gearing up at the pre-season training in early September! The Netball season has got off to a cracking start and the girls have really benefited from our extended coaching sessions during the week which allow plenty of time to hone those skills as well as getting match practice along the way. Our astro has meant that a much better balance of Hockey and Netball has been able to take place this year with a fantastic mixed fixture list involving both sports this term.
The U13 Netball team have welcomed Aoife and Jasmine to the fold, who thrown into the deep end at the beginning of term, have both worked exceptionally hard and deserved their huge improvement so far. The girls have already gone from strength to strength and put on a thrilling display of resilience and team effort last week in a nail-biting encounter with Beechwood in which we narrowly lost but but definitely found our stride. Onwards and upwards U13's!
The U11 Netball team is yet to lose and are showing some good  tactical team play now. Some tougher matches ahead mean we need to keep up the good work and bring out the 'team tiger' in us a little bit more!
The U10's have won two and lost one. This is a super young team in the making with bundles of energy and enthusiasm and I am predicting exciting things as the season progresses.
The U9's too are yet to be beaten and are beginning to develop a  real sense of team work. Court spacing is our next challenge!
I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching such enthusiastic children and look forward to watching their progress unfold as we head into colder times and frosty courts!
