Music Station comes to Skippers

Posted: 24th May 2016 | Category: Drama

Skippers Hill is already bursting with the sound of music.  So, what is Music Station and why were they in school last Friday afternoon?
From small beginnings, two musicians formed a school to develop genres of music not normally offered in schools.  Following the Trinity Rock and Pop syllabus, the Directors have attracted a wealth of teaching talent to their school and are already extremely busy.  They are passionate about their subject and this shows in their performances.  With just two guitars, keyboard and drum box, they had our pupils mesmerised from start to finish.
Parents, these musicians prefer to teach in groups so that their pupils are already thinking as a band.  With the talent that is in evidence at school in the performing arts, this opens up a whole new range of opportunities for your sons and daughters.  Those of you who were at Tuesday’s Performing Arts evening could appreciate the young talent already being nurtured by our visiting teachers.
What we wish to offer is an extra dimension to the music lessons on offer.  We hope that this ‘gig’ will open up new avenues in vocals, keyboard and guitar so that we can work towards having our very own Rock band!
Leaflets were sent home with your children last week.  If yours failed to arrive, there are plenty more in the school office or you can get further details from Music Station’s website, http://musicstation.pro/
We shall be offering one free trial lesson before the end of the summer term so your child can sample what is on offer before you sign up for group lessons.  Your child does not need an instrument for the trial lesson as these will be provided by Music Station!
Music is a small world.  One of the Directors, Julie Parker, was taught by me when she was at Tonbridge Grammar School!
