Latest Inspection Report rates the EYFS provision at Skippers Hill as Outstanding

Posted: 25th January 2012

We are delighted to announce that our latest report, which follows our inspection just before half term, rated the school’s EYFS provision as outstanding. You can read the EYFS section of the report here.

The report graded the overall effectiveness of the EYFS setting as outstanding, and highlighted how careful attention is given to every child’s needs.

The report also graded the leadership and management of EYFS at Skippers as outstanding, and said “the quality of provision is outstanding, with a welcoming, interesting and stimulating environment for children to enjoy”.

The report also went on to highlight how children greatly enjoy their time in school and are enthusiastic and active learners, and made specific reference to how they benefit from the close proximity of older pupils who sit with them in assembly and assist them in the classroom.

In addition to the EYFS provision, the report commended the school on its excellent spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of its pupils. In particular, the pupils’ spiritual development was rated as outstanding, with the report stating that “pupils express themselves and their feelings clearly and have strong self-esteem and self-confidence, which is encouraged by the school’s support and awareness of all their achievements and spiritual well-being.”

“We are delighted with this feedback” commented Mr. Lewis. “ This was a rigorous inspection of every facet of the school and revealed Skippers in its true and vibrant colours! The report positively radiates praise and all the staff and children deserve heaps of commendation for an excellent overall performance!”
