Jersey Tour ‘Bag2School’ Fundraiser

Posted: 24th May 2013

The Jersey Committee has decided to carry out another fund-raising venture with Bag2School, who specialise in collecting second-hand clothes in good condition.

The majority of the clothing is collected in blue bags and shipped to wholesalers in Eastern Europe, where they are sorted and sold to the general public via retailers. They are therefore providing quality clothes at affordable prices.

Bag2School will pay us 50p a kilo and we are aiming to make £500!!  It is an ideal opportunity to have a good clear out at half term, so please hang on to any items you want to clear out until you receive your ‘blue bag’.

Bag2School offers us an opportunity to raise funds for our Years 7 and 8 to go on the Jersey Sports tour in March, assist the environment and create employment both at home and abroad.

On 3rd June every child in the school will be given a blue plastic bag to fill with any second hand clothes, old school uniform, curtains duvet covers, sheets and pillowcases, etc. If you need more bags they will be available. The bags need to be returned to school on 27th June, when Bag2School will be collecting them between 9am and lunchtime.

Thank you and let’s try and raise £500!
