Fruit and vegetables Blindfold Challenge

Posted: 19th January 2017 | Category: Reception, Year 1

On Wednesday, pupils in Reception to Year 5 were challenged to identify five fruit and vegetables by touch, smell and taste alone: this resulted in some hilarity and a lot of surprised responses along the lines of: "Ooh, I would never have eaten that if I'd seen it!"

In Reception and Years 1 and 2, we talked about different textures; in Years 3 and 4, we compared the different qualities of each item; and in Year 5, I was especially pleased when over 80% of the class said they'd tasted and enjoyed something they would never have tried with their eyes open!
