Form of the Fortnight: Year 4

Posted: 4th April 2014 | Category: Year 4

Year 4 has been sharing some of their recent work in Science, Art and French, in which they receive specialist teaching.

Science
In their Science lessons, Year 4 pupils are learning about habitats and food chains.

Art
In Art lessons, Year 4 has been studying the work of Alberto Giacometti, as part of their 3D Art topic.

Giacometti, born in 1901, was a Swiss sculptor, famous for his skinny bronze statues of people and animals.

Giacometti’s statues had a metallic finish, but Year 4 decided to give some of their models a more colourful appearance.

French
Following their recent dialogue work, ordering in a cafe in French, Year 4 was given the opportunity to further explore and build on their vocabulary, to create their own French menus.

They were able to use French dictionaries to support their existing knowledge, with great results. Although some dictionary mistakes were made, this created a positive learning opportunity.
