Form of the Fortnight: Year 3

Year 3 have been sharing some of their recent work and activities. They have enjoyed researching birds and getting their hands dirty, potting tomato plants.

The children have each been asked to research a British ‘Garden Bird’, looking at information such as their habitat, feeding habits and breeding. Having researched their chosen bird and created a spidergram of their findings, next they will be working on a non-fictional piece such as a poster, to display the information.

In keeping with this topic, Year 3 have also enjoyed observing two Long-tailed Tits, who they have named Eric and Ernie.

This week, Year 3 have also been potting their own tomato plants, which they planted from seed back in January.

They have enjoyed observing and measuring them and recording their data, which they will continue to do as the summer progresses.

Year 3 Form Teacher, Mr Attwood-Bloomfield said: “We have a great outdoor environment here at Skippers and I'm pleased the children like getting their hands mucky!”
