Exciting Science: Year 3 Get Hands on with Rocks

Posted: 30th January 2014 | Category: Year 3

The children in Year 3 were captivated when Mrs. Cuppini, Tilly's mother, brought in her collection of various rocks, minerals and fossils into school to talk to the children about rocks, as part of their science topic, Rocks, for this term.

The children enjoyed the lesson immensely and asked many questions.  They were able to experience first-hand the many different types of rock, including half a meteorite, a lump of sparkly lava from Mount Vesuvius (Monte Vesuvio) and a large amethyst geode to name but a few!

Alfie commented at the end of the session: “That was the best science lesson ever!”

We are very grateful to Mrs. Cuppini for giving up her time and for providing the children such a valuable experience.
