Dylan’s Success at The English Schools Cross Country

Posted: 21st March 2013 | Category: Sports

The English Schools Cross Country (for State and Private Sectors) has been won by numerous illustrious athletes including Mo Farrah in 1997 and 1999. This year’s event took place in Derbyshire and county teams from England sent their best 8 athletes to compete for The Lockhurst Trophy.

This year Dylan competed for Sussex in the Junior Boys event. He was  placed 21st of 323 finishers. The Junior boys event is for Year 8 and 9 athletes and Dylan was the second Year 8 boy to finish, helping Sussex to a creditable 6th place in the team event.

He is the Year 8 Sussex champion and competes again for the county  in an Inter Counties event on Saturday 23rd of March in Essex.

Congratulations, Dylan!

And we look forward to hear that he follows in Mo Farrah’s footsteps next year when he will compete as a Year 9 competitor!
