Dressing up for World Book Day fun!

Posted: 30th March 2012

On Thursday 1st March, Skippers Hill devoted the morning to BOOKS. The day began with an Assembly where the children learned the plan for their World Book Day.  Everyone brought in a book for the ‘Book Drop’.  These were books which the children had enjoyed but which they were finished with.  All the books went into big bags and the children had a lucky-dip and came out with a new book to read.

Teachers read to groups of children around the school.  The stories varied from ‘Dracula’ to ‘Winnie the Pooh’

The whole school piled into the Hall to watch ‘The Biggest Book Show on Earth’, which was broadcast live and featured many famous authors.

Later, the children made bookmarks and created book-jackets, wrote poetry, made up character and read some more!
