Celebrating Achievement: Introducing the ‘Look at Us’ Board!

Two teachers, Tiffany Henry and Kate Alexander, have come up with a new initiative to celebrate individual achievement at school. They have created a “Look at Us” board which is situated in a key location outside the dining room, where children, parents and visitors can view this bright, eye-catching display.
Each week the teachers choose children who have accomplished something special and Mr. Lewis rewards the children and discusses their achievements in front of the whole school. These lucky pupils hold their certificates and have their photo taken which is then prominently displayed on the board.
Academic progress is celebrated in three sections to cover the Upper, Middle and Lower School; this week three items of work that showed great improvement were also displayed.
We have the following also exhibited:
- Artist of the Week
- Musician of the Week
- Sports Player of the Week
- French Speaker of the Week
There is even a section for ‘Outside Activities’ and room for any individual child to ‘Be a Star’ for an act of true kindness or impressive and consistently impeccable behaviour.
The Artist of the Week has their work placed on the hall table for all to see. This week’s Artist of the Week, Ela, was recognised for her copy of a Picasso, which you can see below:
Every Monday, the “Look at Us” board is changed as the successes of different children are celebrated.
