Year 6 Leaver Thanks His Teachers

Posted: 10th July 2021

Skippers students are always given plenty of opportunities, especially with school trips. I don’t think some people realise how lucky they are to have these amazing teachers, who give us these wonderful experiences.

We would like to thank Mr Leggett for arranging this year’s trips to Dorset for years 6, 7 and 8, even during the pandemic. We would like to thank the teachers who gave up their time to come to these week – long trips.

Year 6’s trip to Dorset was one of our favourite experiences at our time at skippers. It was such an action packed week, full of sun and water fun. Our first activity was the mud run. For most people, this was the first time they had done this. It was amazing walking, running and swinging through the mud. And crawling through tunnels of wet muddy water. Although this was so much fun, there was only one activity that could rival the mud run….. The water park.

The water park was equally or possibly more fun than the mud run. We were running on inflatables, we were falling in the (not so heated) lake and we were getting shoved in.

Next we played crazy golf. Now this was pretty fun. We were given putters and balls to get into the holes at the other end of the pitch. The next day we went to Corfe Castle. It was super windy up there and it was cold.

The tank museum was very fun. The workers were really friendly, especially with the greeting of a tank pointing at the road. We got to see a tank drive around and learnt about World War I and what it was like. The fake dead people were very creepy.

This trip was definitely our most memorable experience at Skippers
