Bend it like Skippers

An initiation on top quad and a couple of ‘how to play’ lessons with Mr Gurran, the Skippers Hill Girls football team set forth on a damp November afternoon with Mr P as referee and team manager, to its first, and only, football fixture of the year.  Offers of boot loan from the boys were most welcome as were the goalie gloves from Monty, remembered at the last minute.

The team of, Francesca, Sarah, Tali, VJ, Emily, Ellen, Jamila and Diya showed spirit, determination and most importantly how to enjoy sport in the best possible way in the Great Walstead Football Tournament.  The girls narrowly missed out on qualifying for the semi finals but smiled throughout even when wet and covered in mud.  I had a thoroughly wonderful afternoon with a group of delightful young ladies.  Mr P.
