This year’s Year 6 Concert was quite a small affair, but thoroughly enjoyable.
Year 6 decided to show their parents some of the things they do at school linked with Music, Drama, speaking and singing. All of the children took part and it all ran remarkably smoothly.
There was some lovely singing from Imogen and Laura with some excellent musical pieces from several of the children on a variety of instruments. Lizzie played her violin; Laura played the trumpet; Ben played the keyboards and Archie played the guitar. We were also entertained on the piano by Imogen and Flo.
All of the children took part in a mime which was – rather topically – called ‘Stand Up To Bulllies.’ This was National Anti-Bullying Week so the class was able to perform their mime to the rest of the School on Wednesday.
Mrs Pearson’s Drama students gave us some dramatic entertainment and the non-drama students performed their version of A.A. Milne’s ‘The King’s Breakfast.’
The evening was rounded off with a resounding version of ‘The Young Austrian’: a marvellously funny song taught to the class by Carolyn Holleyman.
