"If Music be the food of love …then there is much to feast upon at Skippers!"

All our children, from Kindergarten to Year 8 are taught the Performing Arts by subject specialists. In Years 1, 2 and 3 the boys and girls learn to play the recorder and are actively encouraged to move on to other instruments. Currently we have pupils studying violin, guitar, keyboard, piano, cornet, horn, trumpet, flute, clarinet, saxophone and drums. The taking of Grades is important but enjoying Music for its own sake is even more so!

Orchestra practice takes place each week and the students often perform in Concert Assemblies, School plays and at Open Mornings. All pupils in Years 1 to 3 sing in the Junior Choir and perform at the Carol Service and in the local Festivals.

Members of the Intermediate and Senior Choirs are selected after audition. These youngsters enjoy carol singing in Old People's Homes and at various charity functions. The Carol service is a highlight of the year, as are the competition entries for the prestigious Eastbourne Festival.

Individual talent is fostered through Vocal Training and other instrumental lessons. All the Music teachers collaborate with the Drama Department and relevant Form Teachers when it comes to production time - and, as the pictures show, the results are spectacular.
