Jersey Tour Girls Match Reports
After starting with the island shrouded in mist, the sun shone for our match against St Michael’s. We played a round robin with each game lasting seven minutes for each half.
The A team performed well, passing the ball with plenty of spatial awareness. This kept the opposition on their toes. Unfortunately our shooting was not as good as it has been recently, with opportunities being missed due to over enthusiasm. However, it was considered as a good warm up for the final ‘all schools’ competition.
The B team performed well and like the A team, they used the space well, managing to outwit the opposition with their well thought out passes. Unfortunately they also suffered from lack of shooting accuracy, again due to over enthusiasm!
Thursday morning found the girls at Fort Regent, to take part in the tour's hockey round robin competition, with a series of very fast, hard fought games by both the A and B teams. Both teams equitted themselves well against some very stiff opposition. The A team scored some good goals using the penalty corners, when given to their advantage.
The B team played well using the pitch to their advantage making it difficult for the opposition to score. They even managed to hold the A team to a draw. All in all, it was considered that both teams equitted themselves well.
